The Outside Project is a homeless/crisis shelter & LGBTIQ+ Community Centre in response to those within the LGBTIQ+ community who feel endangered, who are homeless, ‘hidden’ homeless & feel that they are on the outside of services due to historical & present prejudice in society & in their homes. We give advice about different housing related issues to hundreds of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT+) people every year. We understand what you, or your friends, might be experiencing. Food parcels can be collected from the foodbank centre addresses below.
Please note you must be referred by an agency with foodbank voucher in order to receive a food parcel. Contact us to find out what agencies we work with.
When you arrive at the centre with your voucher, you should bring some identification with you if possible, such as a driver's license, ID card or official letter. We also appreciate it if you can bring your own shopping bags or trolley!

Tower Hamlets Foodbank
First Love Foundation coordinates the Tower Hamlets Foodbank, and works to tackle hidden hunger through the provision of emergency donations of food (enough for a minimum of three days) and support to those facing real crisis. It also runs an Advice & Support project which works alongside the Foodbank to ensure that everyone referred to the Foodbank is able to receive help to resolve the underlying causes and have a greater long-term impact in the life of the individual. All Hallows by the Tower is a Church Partner of the project, and usually acts as a regular collection point for donations of food to be distributed to people in difficult situations.

Bethnal Green Food Bank, St Matthew's
The Bethnal Green Food Bank is open the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month, from 10am-12pm, at St Matthew’s Church. Referrals are not necessary. Clients are welcomed warmly, and may attend for a total of 15 sessions, taking 10 food items per session.

Bow Foodbank, St. Catherine of Siena
The Bow Foodbank is an established community organisation and will remain open to all who need us every Monday between 9:30 and 12:30, based at the St. Catherine of Siena. During the pandemic, to safeguard our clients and our volunteers: Instead of food, we will be distributing food vouchers . We will develop as a food hub, working with community groups and schools in the area during this time, to provide food to families and individuals in need.

C-19 The Mission remains Open and Serving: The Whitechapel Mission has been serving the homeless and marginalised for 143 years – including a day centre, skills training and career advice, activity programmes and specialist support for complex needs. We are open every day of the year and expect to see as many as 300 homeless and vulnerable men and women each day. And we do this without public funding.
Food is the highest priority for those sleeping on our streets. Warm clothing, medical attention and support must be sustained as long as possible.

Al Muntada Trust
Soup Kitchen: Recipe for Hope & Smiles
Al Muntada Trust is proud to present its Soup Kitchen. It will run once a week every Sunday 11am - 12:30pm. The aim of the Soup Kitchen is to provide a free meal and support to those vulnerable and in need in our community.
We will also be offering pastoral support especially as at times, people need personal advice, wisdom and prayers.

Al Muntada Food Bank Collection Point
Al Muntada Trust has teamed up with the Trussell Trust to help people in west London who need to access a foodbank.
Trussell Trust foodbanks give a minimum of three days’ emergency food and support to people in crisis. Foodbanks operate to provide short term, emergency support – the Trussell Trust also offers support to identify and resolve the cause of the crisis.
